The home team put in an impressive performance to win this top of the table clash by outscoring the visitors by 4 tries to 2. With a dominant scrum Nant scored an early push over try followed quickly with a move which started in their own half by releasing wing Lloyd Williams to outpace the covering defenders and cross for a second converted try. With the score at 14-0 in under 10 minutes, the visitors began to claw their way back into the game with outside half Steffan Rees using long diagonal kicks in order to push Nant deep back into their own half.   Amman gained more and more possession and eventually managed to work an overlap for Ceri Jones to score in the corner.  Steffan Rees then missed two penalties to give Nant a half time lead of 14-7.

With the game evenly balanced, Amman began to retain the ball on a more consistent manner and Nant were forced to defend their ground for long periods. It looked ominous for the home team when the referee produced two yellow cards leaving Nant with 13 players on the field.    At this stage outside half Meirion Davies produced a display which deservedly won him the Man of the Match award.  First he brushed off two defenders to score a try beneath the posts which he converted.   He followed this with a 40 metre penalty and then with Nant working a number of phases, Davies with his back to the goal posts and with no options around, quickly turned and manufactured a drop goal kick which in another sport Gareth Bale would have been proud of.  Amman added to their score with a penalty and a try but the final word was with Nantgaredig flanker Gavin Orson who crossed for another converted try just before the final whistle. Further good news was greeted in the Hugh Harries HRE clubhouse lounge after the game with information that the Nantgaredig Legends had won their away match at Lampeter seconds.
