Bettws were the deserved winners in this close match having scored three tries to one by Nantgaredig. The home side opened the scoring with a planned lineout move when the ball was passed out wide for hooker Hugh Conway to score in the corner. Nantgaredig came back into the match and with a dominant front row of Elfed Daniels, Marc Davies and Sion Morgan they scored a push over try.

Dean Bromham at outside half for Bettws was prominent in bringing his wing forwards into play and the opposing line was breached a number of times only for the final pass failing to go to hand. Bettws took their opportunities by scoring two further tries by number eight Nathan Chapman and prop Tryston Morgan.

Nantgaredig failed to turn their pressure in attempting another push over on the Bettws line and had to rely on outside half Meirion Davies to kick a conversion, a penalty and a drop goal. Davies failed with a long range penalty before the end which would have given the visitors the lead but this time Nantgaredig had to be satisfied with a losing bonus point.
