Llangadog 8 - Nantgaredig 26

Nantgaredig played their first match in 5 weeks and credit to the Committee and players of the home team in agreeing to allow the game to proceed with the ground conditions being very wet underfoot. Nantgaredig soon had the score board moving with a try by scrum half George Gleeson converted by number 10 Meirion Davies. The outside half then engineered a move which resulted in a slip pass to his brother Carwyn playing at number eight to score the second try. With such an early lead Nantgaredig began moving the ball along the backline when a kick for field position would seem to be the better option. The conditions underfoot began to worsen allowing Llangadog to contain the Nant attacks and to develop more of their own set moves. The score remained 14 - 0 at half time.

The second half continued in much the same format as the end of the first with Nantgaredig attempting to move the ball out wide only for a move to breakdown due to a loss of footing or a fumbled pass. Dafydd Jenkins kicked a penalty for the home side as Llangadog made better use of the ball in the wet conditions. However, Nantgaredig were eventually to capitalise on possession and it was centre Rhys Edwards who broke through the defence to give a well timed pass for wing Gethin Davies to score. Llangadog fought back bravely to exert pressure and deservedly scored a try by Aled Williams.

With the game drawing to a close there was one further try by Nantgaredig to seal the match. Prop forward Lee Williams received the ball on the half way line and with a mixture of hand offs, side steps, and dummy passes sprinted over for the try of the season to date.

Nantgaredig coach Derek Thomas commented: 'It was a deserved bonus point win in challenging conditions for running rugby. A hard battle.'
