Tomas Marks Departing

It is with great regret that we announce that Tomas Marks has stepped down as Coach after six years with the club. He recently took up a role developing the talent of the future at Maes Y Gwendraeth school and unfortunately it was not possible to reconcile the demands of the job with the commitment he felt was needed for Clwb Rygbi Nantgaredig, while still making time for his own family.

During his tenure he coached his home club for 129 league and cup games, winning 91 and drawing five. Those games included an unbeaten season in the league, gaining promotion, reaching a WRU Bowl Quarter Final and Semi final and getting to three West Wales finals, as well as winning an AllwalesSport Team of the Year award.

Tomas's enthusiasm and wide knowledge of the game has helped the club's development immensely. He has driven the standards on and off the field and the Committee and players and, not least, our supporters are hugely grateful for the time and effort he put in over what was a challenging period for rugby.

He leaves the club in a great place with a large, skilful squad of players with Division 2 experience and some of the best facilities in the country. The coaching team assembled by Tomas of Alun Rise, Rheon James and Jac Price will continue to work with the squad to continue the club's success on the field.

The Club committee, members, players, sponsors and supporters all wish him every success for the future and look forward to welcoming Tomas and his family back to the club. Always part of TeuluNant.’
