Looking After Your Personal Information

At Nantgaredig RFC we take protecting your personal information seriously, so we wanted to let you know about the impact of changes in data protection law, which benefit you.

If you are a child, you should read this with a parent or guardian.

New data protection legislation.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies from May 2018. It places data protection obligations on us, making us more accountable and transparent when we use your personal information.

What this means for you:

You won't notice any difference in the way we provided you with information nor in your general involvement with the club, now you'll just have more control over your personal information:

You can find out more about how we handle your personal information but contacting the Secretary or any club official.

You have the right to request a copy of your personal information free of charge.

You also have the 'right to be forgotten', which means you can ask us to delete or remove your personal information if there is no compelling reason for us to keep it.

We will only process your personal information if we have a lawful basis for doing so, for example to manage your information as a result of a legal obligation or with your consent.

Other examples

registration of players not captured by the My WRU Self-Registration process.
maintaining lists of players, members, parents of children at a club etc;
providing player information to a Club’s insurer;
providing an individual’s details to the WRU for regulatory or disciplinary purposes.

We assure you that Nantgaredig RFC will adhere to the following principles:

data is only collected and held where necessary;
data is kept secure; and
we are transparent in the way in which we collect, hold and use such data.

If you have any concerns or wish to alter the method we use to correspond with you, please do not hesitate in contacting a club official.
