Nantgaredig made it through to the final round of the West Wales Plate competition by defeating Lampeter at Llandybie. This was a very closely contested match where it was only 3 points difference between the two teams for most of the game. Lloyd Williams at full back for Nantgaredig scored two tries whilst his opposite number Rhys Douglas for Lampeter added a try and a penalty.
Nantgaredig led 13-11 at half time and the second half saw both sides matching each other score for score. With the match in the balance at 18 all Nantgaredig began to increase the pressure at scrum and were awarded a penalty for Meirion Davies to add the three points. With the clock running down Lampeter were obliged to move the ball along their back line. A forced error resulted in Nant wing Rhydian Evans collecting the ball on half way and beating the cover defence to score a fantastic individual try.
